The River Ness is renowned for hosting one of the most productive summer and autumn salmon runs in the North of Scotland, with fresh fish being caught right up to the last day of the season in mid-October.

At Ness Castle, you can enjoy over a mile of double-bank salmon fishing, featuring some of the finest fly water on the river, including famous pools such as the Black Stream, Lady Pool, and The Laggan. Each pool can be easily accessed from the bank or waded into, and during higher water levels, fishing can also be conducted from one of our four boats at the ghillie’s discretion.

Fishing is available for five rods and is equally rewarding in both low and high water conditions. Thanks to Loch Ness acting as a giant filter, the river runs crystal clear, free of visible sediment, making for ideal fishing conditions.

Fresh fish run throughout the year, with the most productive period occurring from early July until the season concludes in mid-October.
